Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. It lasts up to 29 to 30 days. It is the Islamic month of fasting, in which participating Muslims refrain from eating, drinking and sexual relations from dawn until sunset. Fasting is intended to teach Muslims about patience, humility, and
spirituality. It is a time for Muslims to fast for the sake of God (Arabic: الله, trans: Allah) and to offer more prayer than usual.
In Indonesia during this time all restaurants and food
outlets cover their windows from dusk to dawn to avoid tempting Muslims. Leo Burnett Kreasindo came up with a great campaign for McDonald's during the Ramadan.
