The project is called "Word as Image" and was created by designer Ji Lee. What he did? He visualized the typed words in a minimalistic way. As this was very challanging for him as he just used typographie he decided to keep this as a lifelong project.
This project started nearly twenty years ago as an assignment in my typography class at art school. Students were encouraged to see letters beyond their dull, practical functionality.
