JK Rowling: The fringe benefits of failure

I'm not sure if you are familiar with this women yet but if not you kinda missed out some really wizardry intense adventure. JK Rowling is the author of  the well know magical novels "Harry Potter" and the 'Forbes' billionaire who dropped from being a billionaire to a millionaire due to charitable giving. In 2008 she gave a graduation speech at Harvard University which was authentic and inspiring. She took the courage and talked about failure. A subject many are afraid of was striped in such a way that it makes you feel more relaxed about failing. This way you might let go of all the fears that surround you and do whatever makes you happy. Because in the end as she says it life is not a mandatory "check-list of acquisition or achievement". Life is an adventure.

"Your qualifications, your CV, are not your life, though you will meet many people of my age and older who confuse the two. Life is difficult, and complicated, and beyond anyone’s total control, and the humility to know that will enable you to survive its vicissitudes."

The truth is "failure in life is inevitable. It is impossible to live without failing at something, unless you live so cautiously that you might as well  not have lived at all – in which case, you fail by default." So ask yourself: is being cautiously gonna protect you from the bad things or is it just gonna keep you away from all the hidden treasures that might come when you choose to stand out and forget about the societies check points.

"Ultimately, we all have to decide for ourselves what constitutes failure, but the world is quite eager to give you a set of criteria if you let it". So don't let it.

And remember "There is an expiry date on blaming your parents for steering you in the wrong direction; the moment you are old enough to take the wheel, responsibility lies with you."

Enjoy :)
